Reason Why Your A/C System Is Not Cooling

  1. Thermostat set to “ON” instead of “ AUTO”

The refrigerant is the liquid which is able to absorb heat from your air. When you do not have refrigerant, then your AC is not able to absorb heat in order to cool air. When you have a low refrigerant level, this plainly means that you have a refrigerant leak. The following signs indicate a refrigerant leak;

  • A bubbling or hissing noise
  • When the A/C system is not able to cool your home especially on hot days; although, it cools your house on cool days and at night just fine.
  • When there is an ice buildup outside and on the refrigerant line.

If you notice the signs above, turn off your AC and call a professional as soon as possible. This is because; running the AC at such a state can damage the compressor badly.
