Problem With KITEC Unfortunately, the brass Kitec fittings allowed a chemical reaction to take place which eventually weakened the fittings causing them to fail. Similar problems caused the pipes to fail. The failure can cause water leakage and flooding in homes resulting in severe property damage. Statistical information suggests that it is not a matter of if the Kitec will fail but rather when the Kitec will fail.
Is kitec installed in my house? Kitec pipe was manufactured in two colors: blue for cold water and orange for hot water. The side of the pipe is typically marked “IPEX” and the fittings, stamped “Kitec”, may be recognized by looking at the pipe and fittings. Kitec pipes were used in homes starting in 1995. The first fitting recalls occurred in 2005, which suggests that the average life expectancy is somewhere short of 10 years.
Solution? $125 million settlement fund has been released. This settlement fund is intended to pay for repairs in homes where the Kitec plumbing systems failed. Claims can be made until the year 2020. Contact Super Brothers Plumbing Heating & Air if you think you have Kitec plumbing. We Offer free consultation and examination of your current situation. Full repipe is the only true solution to this problem
TWO TYPES OF PIPE WE WORK WITH
Copper Pipe Copper the “gold standard” for domestic water systems. We use only USA made copper pipe and fittings. There are a lot of recycled copper products in the market that can compromise and cause home flooding. Since we have warranty for our repipe, we can’t afford to use cheap products. Copper comes in several grades (M,L,K and more). Copper pipe has the highest pressure and temperature ratings of all domestic water pipe options.
Pex Pipe We are certified contractor recognized by Uponor as having successfully completed the AquaPEX® training course. Pext is resistant to freezing, meets most codes, can handle any normal domestic water temperature and application, pressure resistant, adaptable, flexible, shares many fittings with copper and so may be mixed into copper systems.

Testimonials
Bought a 60 years old house in East Sac. Tenant will move-in in 5 days. Need to fix some code violations according to the home inspection report. Called Dima( owner ), he showed up the same day and gave me the estimation for the tankless water heater and repipe the whole house with copper pipes. Finished all the jobs within 4 days with permits and passed the city inspection. Great Job!
We had a whole house repipe done by Super Brothers and could not be more pleased with their professional work and customer service attitude. They draped off the areas where they needed to cut sheetrock and kept the mess to a minimum. Always cleaned up completely at the end of the day and arranged for running water available to at least a lavatory and toilet each night.
They always let us know when the city water supply had to be shut off with an estimate of how long it was likely to be off. We live in Davis with "meticulous" building inspectors and Super Brothers work passed inspection on the initial visit. We hope our plumbing issues are behind us now, but will call Super Brothers in the future for any plumbing we need done.
I waited months for this contractor for a whole house repipe in copper. I could feel from first visit that he knew all that was needed to do my job and many others. He did several important things that were not in the contract at no charge. He can work alone as well as with help and leave your home perfectly clean. The job was done perfectly including installation of new water heater which required some extra mods to the enclosure. I don't know which was better his fair price or the friendly respectful attitude.
We just completed a house repipe and new sewer line install. We had three estimates. Super Brothers (Dimitar) was the most knowledgeable estimator. We appreciated his honest recommendations and he gave us an estimate much less than the other two. We felt very confident in using Super Brothers. We were not disappointed. The installers were very professional and they took pride in their work. The after service follow up was thorough. Bottom line. We got a quality job, from an honest company, for a very reasonable price. We have recommended them to our family and neighbors.
