TECH Clean California has just launched exciting new rebate programs for single-family homes—designed to make switching to energy-efficient heat pump systems more affordable than ever. These rebates cover both air-source and air-to-water heat pumps, as well as heat pump water heaters.

💧 Heat Pump Water Heater Incentives

Qualified homeowners can now receive rebates ranging from $1,500 to $5,700, depending on income and location. These incentives are available to both standard and equity-eligible customers—and can be combined with local rebates up to $3,000, making the upgrade virtually free for many residents.

🌬️ Air-Source Heat Pump HVAC Incentives

· $1,000 per unit – For homes that don’t have electric A/C or are retaining their existing furnace for air handling.

· $1,500 per unit – For homeowners replacing electric A/C and removing their gas furnace entirely.

Higher Rebate Tiers:

· $3,500 per unit – For homes with no previous electric cooling, while keeping the furnace as backup.

· $4,000 per unit – For full conversions that replace electric A/C and fully decommission the gas furnace.

Bonus Savings:

· You may also be eligible for local utility rebates up to $3,000.

· Plus, claim a federal tax credit equal to 30% of your total project cost, up to $2,000 annually if completed by year-end.

🔄 Air-to-Water Heat Pump Rebates

Installations of qualifying systems can receive between $3,500 and $5,000, based on the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of the unit. These rebates are for market-rate participants only and come from the HVAC incentive budget—equity-tier incentives are not available for this category.
